December

It's that time of the year again - an eventful 2005 is coming to an end. While we all still enjoyed the aftermath of Morrissey's 2004 release "You are the quarry", Boz was already busy not only keeping his many side projects rolling, but also recording next year's anticipated album supposedly called "Ringleader of the tormentors" with an ever-growing army of lads. Now we can all look forward to the result of Moz'n'thelads meets Visconti meets Morricone.

Meanwhile, here's some stuff to keep you entertained: Lyn wrote us a diary entry from the Boorer's recent eventful trip to the U.S., Suzanne sent in some pictures from the show in Austin and Boz, Ghost and Suzy contributed pictures from the crazy Polecat shows in Japan.

Boz, Lyn and everyone here at bozboorer.com wish you a warm and comfy festive season and a very happy new year!!

November

Check out the diary entry on Tony Visconti's website - Signore Visconti is the producer of Morrissey's new album, due for release early next year! The diary entry gives you a good insight into what Moz, Boz and the lads have been up to in the past couple of months. And to quote Boz, "it's all true", so this is better than anything any journalist could have written. Enjoy!

Special guests at the gig in Austin on November 17th are Chadd Thomas, The Crazy Kings and Girl in a Coma. In San Antonio on November 18th, Boz and the Bozmen will be supported by The Offbeats, Sick City Daggers and Girl in a coma.

Go see 'em if you can!

Happy new year everyone and welcome to another round of rock'n'roll mayhem in Boorer style!

Morrissey recently answered some fans' questions via the fansite true-to-you. Here's what he had to say about working with his musical director Boz:

Q: What is it about Alain and Boz's music, and their style, that you enjoy most?

Henry, Los Angeles.
--
hello Henry

Everything. For a start, they know their craft impeccably. They are obsessive musicians and in it for life. Alain's work has a melodious sadness to it, whereas Boz is drawn to pulsating rhythms. The best of Boz is Reader Meet Author, and the best of Alain is Life is a Pigsty. I honestly feel honoured to have worked so much with both of them, and our relationship just improves with time - even if I don't.

Q: How has Jesse Tobias affected the new album?

Darragh, Dublin
--
hello Darragh

If you hear the new album you will notice a marked difference in sound, principally due to both Michael Farrell and to Jesse. Personally and musically, Jesse has made a big impact - You Have Killed Me, The Youngest Was The Most Loved, In The Future When All's Well, I Just Want To See The Boy Happy....these songs, especially, fully release the hounds. There are no Boz songs on this album, but strangely, it is the album on which Boz has been most involved and had such a massive input. Boz is 24-hour non-stop, and if impetus lulls, Boz steers everyone back on track.
If it seems to some people that Jesse has replaced Alain, I would like to say that this isn't true. There is no replacing and there is nothing but harmony amongst all the players.

Update March 2005

Somebody used Boz's new Japanese 45' as a soundtrack to an independent film featuring previously unseen pictures of James Dean. You can view the very nice film here

Boz and Lyn will be playing as Boz & the Bozmen at the annual Green Bay Rockin' Fest . They will be joined by Dean (Kid Rocker) and Deano, yes Deano of Morrissey's drummer boy fame.

On a totally different note, there's some sad news - Edwyn Collins, long time musical buddy of Boz, suffered a brain haemorrhage on Sunday 20th of Feb. He was coming round by last Wednesday but unfortunately had another stroke on Friday 25th. He underwent emergency surgery. He was in intensive care - he still is, but is stable and all our thoughts are with him and his family.

January 2005

Happy new year from everyone at BozBoorer.com!

2004 has been a fantastic year for Moz, Boz & the lads with "You are the quarry" going platinum and all four singles entering the UK top ten. The year also had them touring for more or less eight months, playing to about a gazillion people around the globe. And what does 2005 have in store?? Well, first of all, a Brit Award nomination!! Cross your fingers for Morrissey who's nominated for "Best British Male". And whatever comes after that, we'll keep you posted ....

On a slightly different note, Boz has now had the time to refurbish and update the studio - the "House of Boz" has re-opened! If you're an artist or band and feel like recording with Boz's original equipment that has seen just about every other stage on the planet, look here and give us a shout!

The "tour diary" will now be renaned "The Boorer's diary" as both Lyn and Boz will write irregular features on what's going on at la casa del Boorer. Old diary entries have moved to the archive section. Now stay tuned for another year of Rock'n'Roll mayhem at the Boz Boorer headquarter! Meanwhile, read this brand new interview with Boz ...
